  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Okay, so if I am going to be using exclusively Apple CarPlay for navigation through google maps, would there be any benefit to removing the map sd card from the system? Would it boot up faster maybe and allow carplay to come up quicker?

I ask because I might remove it and stow it in a safe place in the vehicle that way if I ever want to reactivate the in car navigation I can do that and simply reinsert the sd card.

What do y’all think of this? Do you think removing the map sd card will make the system faster at booting and connecting to carplay? Do you think this is a fair idea?

Do not think it will make any difference. It may make it slower. The system will boot and still be looking to load a map card. It will then have to fault before proceeding.
