  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just bought a 2013 Hyundai Genesis Sedan 3.8 premium package and was wondering if I should pay to get the Hyundai Protection Plan Vechicle Service Contract. Please advise. For $1550 it extends my Nav,Audio and High Tech warranty to 10 years .

Hello Aseem.

I think you should get the warranty. You also need to understand what the warranty covers. It does not cover all of the high-tech stuff (Parking sensors, and cruise control).

I would contact Annapolis Hyundai and ask for the finace manager by the name of Tony Kim. He might be able to get you a better deal than what is being offered to you. I would say probably about $1000 to $1200.

The dealer pays Hyundai about $800.00 for the extended warranty and the rest is profit for the dealer.

One more thing, the warranty is being administered by Safe Guard. Not to worry, it is still being backed by the manufacturer, but they pay a 3rd party to administer it.

Does anyone have a copy of an actual HPP contract document they can post? (or a link to one).

My 5 years is up in 2014 and don't want to be driving around naked in my '09 Tech

10 years but how many miles? If you drive 20k or more miles per year and the miles warranty is 100k or less then I would say no.

I drive less than 10K miles an year and also I just have premium package in my car. So please advice If should buy extended warranty and what is the right price to pay for it?

Get the extra warranty. If you sell before it is expired, they refund the difference. It also is assignable to a second buyer. So, will raise the value of the car. If you keep the car for 10 years and have only 10k a year, extended warranty will likely be valuable.

No matter how you look at it, based on your feelings, a good way to go.

I purchased my CPO genesis and passed on the extended warranty, but now I'm having 2nd thoughts. It's been less than a week since I purchased. At the time of purchase, finance guy said the extended (wrap) warranty is only available at time of purchase. Is that true?

I've got a 12 with premium and tech with 33k miles. I know the electronics are not covered after 36k miles, what recommendations do you have to purchase additional coverage. I plan on trading in 15 months for the new Genesis, but will have 50k miles by then.
