  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi I ordered a GV70 2.5T Prestige Black with red interior. Will receive in a few months. I really don't like the wheels that come with it as I find it takes away the sport look. Actually like the ones that come with the 3.5 sport plus but can't have them.
Saw a few guys here who changed their wheels and looks awesome so thought I would start a thread to give me and other ideas of different wheels.
From another post it seems the fit is Wheel size 19x8.5 Bolt pattern 5/114.3 offset 35mm
Will probably stay with 19" like original or maybe 20" not much more as I live in pot hole city so want to keep as much rubber as possible before hitting the rim and of coarse there is ride comfort.

So show me what you got :)

I don’t get why some people fret over the 21” wheels. The GV70 is incredibly compliant even with those large wheels. Are people buying these cars without having test driven them at all?

I actually like them but the 2.5 doesn't have those as an option. And the ones from my picture I don't like

Yes, I was able to do a few test drives before deciding this was the vehicle I wanted.

It delivers a better ride than a pick up truck but it’s still not as smooth as I thought it would/should be before my 1st test drive. There are times I really-really feel the road in the seat of my pants…I’m pretty sure it’s because of the Band-Aid type of tires on 21” wheels.

I blacked out the OEM sport plus wheels on my 3.5T. Halfway through the coats, haven't had the time to finish up. Will update when I eventually finish the project.

I love my 21inch wheels and have no problem with the ride quality. As you said, the ride is compliant and not harsh. It could also be I'm used to driving on larger wheels, and for the last 12 years, I have not driven on anything smaller than 21" wheels. The 21's to me, look better than the smaller wheels and especially on the 3.5T Sport Prestige.

The size of the wheels isn’t what causes a harsh ride. It’s the combination of suspension parts and settings plus the sidewall profile of the tires. I believe the GV70 comes with 40 series sidewalls which is a lot for a 255 width tire. It’s probably all relative as I’m used to cars with 30 or even 25 series profile tires.

Nice. No luck finding any wheels on Tire Rack.

Where did you get your setup?
My Gv70 had its first oil change 2 weeks ago and while I was waiting the dealership had winter tires and rims for sale. They had a genesis cap but a sticker on the side with the brand. So I went to Fast website and looked at their models and told my mechanic the rim and tire I wanted. They sell tires and rims and have been a good customer for a few years. I got the rims for $289 CAD/each and the blizzak dm v2 $245CAD/ each. Tire sensors I paid $200

I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news but those wheels are not winter rated the finish is vulnerable to salt
Not a crazy amount of salt gets sprayed in Toronto. I prefer to fix them in a few years than having steel rims or a model I don't like.

Which wheels from Fast did you get? I ordered my GV70 for a January delivery with the winter wheel/tire package. It seems it went up $300 from when I ordered.
