  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Show off your wheels

I have the 2.5t that came with 19’s. Changed wheels and tires immediately. Went with 255/45/20. I preferred going with the 20’s so that I can get a little more rubber on the tires and keep a smooth ride vs the 21’s or 22’s some are going with. I can say the ride did not change much as far as I can tell other than the car feels like it handles better but still smooth.

Upgrades:
Ceramic Coat All Exterior
Ceramic Tint 35% including windshield
Wheels: 20" Niche Wheels M224 Gamma Gloss Black Rims 20x9 35
Tires: CONTINENTAL EXTREME CONTACT DWS 06 PLUS - 255/45ZR20
Reviver Digital License Plate

Upcoming Upgrades: Chrome Delete, Paint Calipers Red, Bumper and Hood PPF, Dynoflex Windshield

So why the digital license plate and what does it do? I think its cool and honestly had not heard of it until I saw it on your upgrades.

swapped out the 19's with 20x9 Asanti Monarch. Tires are 255 45 20. I did lower it so that is why I did not go with 22.

Wanted these in the brush titantium, 22" but darn things don't come in our bolt pattern for some idiotic reason. Oh well.

There are lots of wheels out there in this style. I am sure you will find something that fits.

Staggered setup 22x10.5 and 22x9 Vossen VFS-2 Gloss Black Tires are 295/30/22 and 265/35/22 Nitto NT420V
Fitment will be perfect with a set of springs. There is a minor poke from rear view.

Yes, lots of black wheels, which is not my thing. Otherwise, very little available, and what I find I like in a finish I like,....out of stock....EVERYWHERE. Been looking for months. I am relatively picky when it comes to wheels. Frankly, I am a fan of the 21", but not the offset. And using spacers is not ideal...bad experience with them in the past, and they were good quality spacers. Ideal set up...22 x 9.5 +33 to +35ET, 265/40/22 contis all around. The search continues!

Ha, very nice! Ordered same wheels in April but in 21s. Hopefully we are not too close to each other! ;)

If I had to do it over I would have went with 21s too. The staggered setup will look very good once someone comes out with a good set of springs.

Anyone have any issues with aftermarket TPMS sensors?
I've read of some issue with after-market TPMS sensors. The OEM part number is Genuine OEM 52940-AR100 VALVE-TPMS 4 PCS Set / 52940AR100 and last I checked were available on amazon.

Apologies ahead of time for the gargantuan post.

Wheels: Aodhan AFF7 Matte Bronze
Size: 20x9 ET30 | Center Bore: 73.1
Tires: 255/45R20 Continental DWS06 Plus
Hardware: M14x1.5x30mm Conical Wheel Bolts

Finally put some new wheels on. I ran into an issue with the rear wheel bolts not clearing a disc looking thing behind the hub so had to reorder shorter bolts from ECS Tuning. I think the front bolts cleared fine but don't quote me on that. The OEM bolts are M14x1.5x40mm but they are a weird design where several millimeters at the end of the shank has no threads (I have a picture of the OEM bolts and the first bolts I bought at the end of the post). The threaded part of the OEM bolt is only around 30mm. The bolts I needed for the new wheels are conical which sit closer to the hub than the ball-seat OEM bolts. I think the combination of the new bolts sitting closer to the hub and more threads made the M14x1.5x40mm bolts I bought originally too long. I ended up ordering M14x1.5x30mm and they fit and torqued down fine. I think the 33mm on their site would also fit.

Fitment. I think the front fitment is almost perfect; maybe 1-2mm (et29/ et28) more would make it immaculate. The rear fitment could be more aggressive; I think 5mm (et25) would get it almost flush but it's hard to say without using spacers to test it. Overall happy with how it looks and I'll leave it the way it is. The wheels are also pretty light; 23.6lbs without a tire. Not that it matters on an SUV but it can't hurt!

Color: I originally wanted black wheels but seeing the bronze AFF7s on some others cars in other forums (BMW specifically), I thought they looked cool and I took the chance on the matte bronze (they also don't have any matte black in stock so it artificially helped me decide). I really like the color; it isn't gold or bright bronze (which I didn't want at all) but a dark bronze. Not sure if it will work on every car color but it works on the silver. I'm quite curious what everyone thinks of the color.

I took a lot of pictures of the wheels and the fitment of them to help anyone like me looking for wheels. Some of the profile shots of the car were taken when it's parked slightly downhill which makes it look slightly weird I think but didn't notice this until after I got back. One of those instances where you have to see it in person. This thread and the other one had the best information I could find so the least I could do is contribute.

I really like the bronze! I think that might look good on my Burgundy GV70...I will have to do some Photoshop work and test that out!

One question...did you notice a difference in the ride going to 20" rims?

Looks great, and I think the offset is pretty bang on. I prefer to have it slightly in from the fender than too much poke. Most know I am not a fan of all black wheels so this is a refreshing look from my perspective.

I haven't driven many miles on them because of the bolt issue I had but I'll be doing a highway trip today and will report back with what I find. Preliminary judgments are that it isn't as, uhh "plush/soft", mostly because I think the new tires are stiffer than the stock ones but the car feels better if that makes any sense. It definitely has more of a dull thud sound over road imperfections than it did before.

EDIT: The new tires are definitely stiffer and transmit more feel to the cabin and steering wheel about what's happening to the tires on the road. The stock 19s are softer and transmit less feedback; more insulated. Road noise is about the same but I always have music on. Expansion joints and road imperfections that induce a sudden shock to the tires feel a little bit more noticeable than the 19s and stock tires.
