  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Show off your wheels

Hi everyone. Does anyone here have experience running a staggered 20" setup? So something like 20x8.5 front and 20x10 back? Wondering if there would be any clearance issues with the back being wider.

I have seen several run that kind of set up, but mostly 9" wide in the front, 10 or 10.5 in the back, and wider diameter at 21 and 22". One key spec however, is the offset. If too high, it could cause issues with suspension components. Too low and and your tire or wheel will poke, which IMHO, looks absolutely dorky on a luxury vehicle. Leave the poke for off road trucks. Test fit is always recommended if possible. Even with a lower offset, the design of the wheel spokes could result in contact with the brake calipers. If you're not sure what you're doing and don't know how to calc offsets/backspacing etc, or can't find someone with the exact wheel set up that can confirm it works, I would strongly recommend you go to a reputable wheel and tire shop.

Thanks sir... unfortunately I don't live near any good shops that sell wheels so am planning to order online and have them mount and balance the tires and wheels. I'll look into the offset measurements and see what could work. Thanks for the info!

No worries. If you order online, ensure the wheels you choose are approved by retailer to fit the GV70. One step further, chat with a rep and keep a copy. That way, you have recourse if there are issues when you get them on your car. Also, in one of the threads, maybe this one, I posted a rather extensive thread on how to calc offset. Just FYI, my wheels are custom offset and Centre bore. But I went square set up. 21 x 9, with offset of +32, with 265 series tires in the front has the front sidewall just flush with the top of the fender, and the back a bit inset. My 265 tires have a wider section width than my wheels.

Hi @luck11 have you posted any photos of your car on this forum? I’m thinking to maybe go with 21’s and 265 tires like you. Would love to see how that increased sidewall looks.

Looks great! I appreciate the machined face, as you can tell below. As I have stated many times, not a fan of solid black wheels. Kept my stock 19" for winter...sold the Michelin's and bought winters...Conti viking contact 7s. These are 21 x9, custom offset of ET32 and custom CB to perfectly fit of 67mm. Rotary flow forged so have strength without the weight...less than 20 lbs each. Machine face has a tinted clear so tones it down a bit.

😍😍 looks like E class wheels. What’s the brand and model of your rims?

Just got new wheels for our 2025 GV70. Rohana RFX5 in 22x9 +30 and 22x10.5 +40 with 265/35/22 and 285/35/22. Love the fit and offset. 22s really don't look to big at all and ride seems to have been unaffected. Stock suspension, no rubbing under any circumstances. We Chose Yokahama Geolandar X-CVs for their quiet ride reputation. The wheels are lighter than stock too and that helps.IMG_1535.webpIMG_1531.webpIMG_1534.webpIMG_1533.webp
