Shuts down going 30 mph !!! For no reason

HI GUYS , Sat. night it just shut down going 30 mph near my house , about 1 mile away & I called a local tow guy .... it has almost 6000 miles on the car and for no reason it just went dead !!!! I paid $70 bucks to tow but did not have to wait hours for roadside assistance my local guy came in 10 mins and I was in right lane with flashing lights on very heavy traffic street,got out of car and sat on a bench while my genny started a traffic jam. HAS THIS HAPPEN TO ANYBODY ELSE ? .... Now it's monday morning and I have tow truck coming to take to dealer UGH! ....................I will let you know what happens at dealer !!! stay tuned !!!! THINK THEY WILL PAY ME BACK FOR TOW & RENTING A CAR SUNDAY FOR $75.00 ? I WONDER ....NOT A HAPPY CAMPER I'M OUT $150.00 PLUS CAB FARE .....
 
You could have called Hyundai Roadside Assistance.... And it probably did not quit for literally no reason.
 
Why did you not try the free roadside asst.? The tow truck my have been very near. You could have given it at least 15 minutes.
 
Usually the policy is that you must call whatever provider of the service (road side assistance) first and then, if you wait a loooonnng time, then you can call another two truck and be reimbursed.

If you have been waiting an hour and road side assistance hasn't showed up, then you can call an alternate and should have no problem being reimbursed for your costs.

You could always bluff at the dealer...

I have called Hyundai assistance twice (dead battery!) and it's taken less than a half hour total each time.
 
I think you have to follow the Hyundai program. If it does not work then you have a leg to stand on for reimbursement. Since you did not even try you are probably out of luck on getting your money back.
 
It is not the money for the tow !!!! it's the fact that it went dead while I was driving !!!! At the dealer now & they still can't tell me what went worng ??

well guys it took them a week but as I told them when it happen !!!!
it was a fuel pump ! now they are ordering the part and a few more days UGH!!!!!
I HAVE NO CLUE WHY IT WOULD TAKE A WEEK TO GET TO CAR AND FIND OUT IT WAS A FUEL PUMP , THEY ARE NOT THAT BUSY ????
I HOPE I GET IT BY WED.
NOT TO HAPPY WITH SERVICE DEPT. OF HYUNDAI

I hope it stops or I will have to look at something else !!

Your problem is not with the 'Genesis', but it is with YOUR Genesis. Otherwise, we would all be having 'lots of trouble'. --- So far, I've got 11K miles on mine and it has been flawless.

What other trouble have you had?

was pulling to right ! it took 4 times to dealer to get it fixed also the head unit was replaced ,first with a rebulit head unit then when it did not work they put in a new one and it still has nav problems which I don't use anymore... can't see streets in nyc tells me to go wrong way ,always says to go like a crow flys and never tells me to take highways or tolls also ipod freezes up so once your on a song it won't change well sometimes !!! a horror show !!!!
EVERYONE AT SERVICE DEPT KNOW ME & THEY ALL SAY HELLO LIKE I'M AT MY OFFICE .
Only thing it did was get me home in big snow storm I was caught about 30 miles from home and the car did great ! CRAZY I KNOW.............. but tons of cars were stuck on highway and I just went around them and made it home !!! amazing !
JUST TO MANY TIMES TO SERVICE DEPT & THEY TAKE TO LONG TO FIX , WELL ALMOST FIX----THANKS !

Sorry to hear it was your fuel pump. Mine died a few weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon. Fortunately the dealer identified the problem on Monday. The part didn't arrive until Wednesday but I had the car home Wednesday night. So while it sucks to have a car die, my dealer resolved the issue in a reasonable amount of time. So far, so good. Hopefully we're just at the tail end of the failure curve and the replacement will be trouble-free for the life of the car.
