Side Mirror Camera Not Working

Hey everyone,

My passenger side mirror's camera stopped working suddenly. It shows a blue screen on infotainment system. It was broken for a couple days and then fixed itself. After 1 month it is broken again. Dealership has ordered a new camera module or entire assembly, not sure. Appointment is in December so I'll see how they fix it. See attached for the error. Just wanted to document this issue here.

The fix for the dealership was to replace the camera module/system. No issues now and hopefully won't have any at all going forward

Wish I would've seen this earlier. Wanted to share that my 2018 G90 is now on it's 3rd passenger side camera replacement in the last 2 years. AND I just saw it almost fail again last week. Like yours, it corrected itself the same day so I am still nervous that I will have to pay for it again after warranty runs out in 4 mos. Wish I had a source for escalating problems like this so don't get stuck with on my dime post warranty.

Nothing truly fixes itself. I have to wonder if it was really fixed or when putting in the new camera they cleaned a bad connection and did not know that was the original problem.

Mine has been doing this on and off for the last few months as well. Until it goes out completely I won't bother telling the dealer about it, from past experience if something seems to be working fine when they have the car they don't really do much if anything to try to diagnose the issue.

It helps if you have video or pictures. I sent it to the advisor and that’s when the camera was ordered. It happened to be that the camera stopped working the week it was scheduled to be replaced, so I’m not sure what would be the outcome if the camera was working at the time.

this is a G70 forum, you are in the wrong place

Not since it’s been replaced. So about 4 months trouble free.

I doubt 3 cameras actually broke ( unless you were very unlucky), my guess is that some wires came loose / aren’t properly secured. Maybe a water leak? If it some wiring it might not be too expensive to fix if you take it to an local mechanic. If you go through the dealership though, it’ll definitely be pricy as they’ll most likely just want to replace the whole unit again, instead of looking for an alternative issue.

Now, with G70s this isn’t a common issue. I don’t know how big of an issue it is with G90s. You might be right to escalate the issue just so you can be covered before you run out of warranty.

I still have my vehicle. Since the fix, there has been no issues.

I have had these issues so far. I am OG owner and bought new.

1. Camera with the blue screen
Was fixed right away. No issues since

2. One of the side mirrors not folding in during winter
Dealership won’t fix it as they can’t reproduce. I have shown them multiple videos.

3. Low sound / high pitch whistle from AC during summer
Dealership can’t fix it.

4. Vibrations under braking.
Genesis replaced all rotors under warranty. This took far too long to approve, but was a dealer specific issue where they lost the paperwork / stopped tracking progress. The warranty was approved right away, but dealership did not do the work for about 1 year.

5. Dark chrome looking patchy
In process of fixing maybe. They have covered the front trim piece and top of the window trim. However, the bottom of windows on all doors have faded / look patchy. We’ll see if they fix it when I go for maintenance this summer.

6. Roof rattle sounds
I know this is a common issue. I don’t plan on fixing this under closer to end of my warranty as it doesn’t bother me enough.

7. Piping on sport seats get abraded easily
No fixing this really, just a poor design from Genesis. The dealership has repainted it, but there really is no fix for the piping. Both front seats on the outside boasters are abraded in same spot just above the hip area.
