  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello fellow members,
I have 2015 Genesis 5.0. Whenever I used to put the car in reverse, the mirrors used to tilt down but nowadays I have seen that the mirrors have stopped tilting down. I looked at some posts wherein they recommmended to keep the mirror selection to left or right and not in the center for the feature to work. I tried that too but did not help!

You're saying that the blue light is on one of the mirror buttons and they're still not tilting down?

When you move the shift lever to the
R (Reverse) position, the side view
mirror(s) will rotate downwards to aid
with driving in reverse. The position
of the side view mirror switch (1)
determines whether or not the mirrors
will move:
Left/Right : When either the L (Left)
or R (Right) switch is
selected, both side view
mirrors will move.
Neutral : When neither switch is
selected, the side view mirrors
will not move.

Put the car in reverse, use mirror controls to aim mirrors down. When you next use reverse the mirrors will move to your chosen positions.

In my old Acura TL, you could turn that feature off. Didn't know it could be done on the Genesis...

Thanks this helped :)

Ha! Until this thread, I didn't even realize that you could put the mirror control into "neutral" position. Since there's no center position, I assumed it was either left or right. Now I know that pressing the active button will turn off both until you press one of the buttons again. Doh!
