Has anyone seen a key fob cover for the 2017 G80 fobs? I'd like to get a silicone one because they help prevent the fob from sliding out of my pants pocket when sitting.

It happened yesterday, the fob slipped down between the seat and console - could not lock the car so I knew right away. It's even worse when it winds up in someones couch, you don't know till you get back to the car!

I wonder if I could plasti-dip it?

You must have small pockets. Never happened to me even once.

Get Drop Stop - well worth it!

I got the exact same item described above on ebay via China or Japan I believe.
They are nice to have and prevent things from falling into the space between seat and console.
I paid a bit over $4 for a pair including shipping. I'm sure you'd like to save over $20 and not
buy at the link above?

Sure - why worry about intellectual property and folks actually making any money on their patented inventions. Buy a $58K car and be worried about $20... lol... and then people wonder why jobs are gone - no one is willing to pay a reasonable price for anything...

You could not have made a better comment here !! !

the leather one comes from Korea so it takes about 3 weeks, but I will say the quality is outstanding. a bit pricy yeah, but IMO worth it. While I don't use the fob regularly as I have a smart card, I do use it if I know I have to turn the car over to a valet or service, so I don't have to worry about the fob getting banged up by some inattentive attendant

IMO, the fob is already TOO large.

Thank you Mr. Incredible, my silicone covers are on their way.

Re the fob is too large - hey, it's a big car! :-)

I am a new bee here.. why would we want a FOB cover ??? I do not get it

Same reason your grandmother put slip covers on the new sofa. Depending on how you use it, some do get banged up a but it is usually just appearance, not function.

Has anyone had any real time, long-term experience with this product? Have you installed them on inboard, outboard, or both?

yes, I have them on all my cars and have since they first came out back in 2005 or so, the owner Marc Newburger is local to me and he had one of those forum special pricing sales when he was first starting the business, before he went on Shark Tank and got major funding from Lori Greiner. I bought several at that time.

my impressions: Initially the first run of the product had some issues (circa 2005) the seam stitching would pop open from the squeezing pressure put on the device around the seat beat buckle. That issue was fixed eventually and since 2010 or so I haven't had any issues.

I've had them in 6 of my own cars and my wife in 2 of hers, I did move them from car to car, but over time they do get a little "ratty" looking. they are machine washable, but when you have a new car it's nicer to have new accessories.

overall it is a great product, aside from preventing things from falling between the seat it also keeps the seat belt buckle raised up and away from the console where they tend to rub and scratch over time.

The only caution I have for them, make sure that your or who ever details your car, removes them and vacuums around them and brushes them off, over time things get wedged between them and the console, especially if you are one that eats in your car, and since they wrap around the seat belt, movement of the seat will scratch the console as a result of them having crumbs or whatever wedged in there.

They are black Neoprene filled with polyester fiberfill so they are flexible and washable.

I recommend them, they aren't cheap, but then they aren't cheaply made either, and my experience with the company is they are very good at taking care of issues, when I reported the issue of the stitching popping they sent out replacements immediately.

Thanks much for a great review. One additional question: Have you installed them on inboard, outboard, or both?

what do you mean by outboard?

they go between the seat and the console on driver and passenger sides.

The company's video shows them installed between the seat and center console (inboard) as well as between the seat and the door panel (outboard).

never installed it between the seat and door, don't even see how it would be possible, and I don't see it in the video... can you point to the time segment.

I guess the old eyes are getting even older. Swore I saw them install outboard. Excuse me.
