  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am looking at trying to grab a few more horsepower from simple modifications. Is there a guide somewhere for the 3.8? Like spark plug recommendations, intakes, exhaust, with real numbers associated with them?

Don't know of a guide.

AEM makes an intake for it.

You picked the wrong car, buddy. There is absolutely nothing out there for 3.8 and 5.0. The only real gain in HP/TQ is getting g80 sport or G70 with 3.3L twin turbo.

Thanks all. I was just curious.

I would try using premium gasoline(91 or 93 octane) and installing an K&N performance air filter to free up several ponies lost due to the stock paper air filter restriction and possible timing retard when using 87 octane. You may also install a Sprint Booster module to help reduce the throttle by wire lag which usually improves acceleration times over the stock throttle-by-wire calibration.

Not much more modifications available for the 3.8 engine that I am aware of, however the 3.8 is pretty good performer in stock form for this type of car. Car and Driver rates the 2015 0-60 mph at 5.9 seconds, which damn is good for such a heavy large luxury sedan.

Many of us have high expectations. It was amazing years ago to hit 6 seconds in a big engined car of years ago. Now we can get 4s and 5s on big luxury cars. Many Ferrari could not hit that.
