  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The literature for the Genesis talks about Siri Hands Free as a feature. It says nothing about the Samsung S-Voice, which seems to be the same thing as Siri. Can anyone tell me the difference between the two as far as the Genesis is concerned? What can Siri do that the S-Voice cannot? I am due for an upgrade in my phone and might switch to the iPhone if it has cool features for the Genesis that my S-Voice doesn't. Thank you.

If I'm not mistaken, Siri (Apple) is supported on Genesis. S-Voice is Samsung's proprietary Siri-like interface and is not supported. As a long time user of Samsung phones, S-Voice blows (slow and a little unreliable) and I disable it and use Google Now (also not supported but works as good or better than Siri).

Thanks for the response. I am still not clear on what it is that Siri can do in my Genesis that the S-Voice cannot do. I can still use my S-Voice for voice commands on the phone and the Genesis itself has voice commands, so why would I want to use Siri???? Will Siri display my text messages on the GPS screen, for example? Will any text messages I receive be read aloud to me via the audio system? My S-Voice can read text messages aloud, but only from the phone. I am really confused.

I haven't had an iPhone in years and while my wife has an iPhone for work, she uses her Note 3 for the car so I cannot speak personally to how Siri functions with the Genesis. I imagine it will let you interface with your iPhone for some basic tasks like you stated without having to handle your phone you can use Siri to control the iPhone without having to actually pick up your phone. Probably best to see if someone who has an iPhone and uses it that way can answer what you really get. Certainly it will not be as feature rich as Apple Car Play which may or may not be made available to existing Genesis cars.

Siri will read your emails and text messages through the audio system. I also compose emails and text messages through the audio system and sent them. It will also play whatever song I have in iTunes by command thought the system. I have an iPhone 6 Plus on iOS version 8.2

The genesis doesnt work with any android voice command. They totally dropped the ball even tho "google now" had the ability to be invoked by a bluetooth headset

For apple, you can long press the voice button on the steering wheel to send voice commands to the phone.
