• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It was my understanding that the purchase of the Genesis came with 3 years XM, Traffic and Travel Link. At least that is what was said in the ads. Until I received this letter. Has anyone else gotten one?

I just discarded a Sirius letter without reading it since I have no intention of continuing a subscription with over 1200 songs on the Jukebox. That was probably the letter I threw away.

I always knew I just had 3 months of the radio service, but I had never paid any attention to the traffic and travel duration.

I am looking at my window sticker now. It states "SiriusXM Travel Link Including 3-Year complimentary Services". I was told at the dealer that I had 3 years comp service with Sirius radio. After I starting receiving these letters I talked to the dealer and he said it was his understanding that I did in fact have the 3 year complimentary service. He told me to call Sirius and see what they say. That is when I read my window sticker more carefully and I think the dealer is wrong about the radio but it clearly states Travel Link. I have yet to call Sirius.

It would have never been 3 months of free radio. Almost all XM equipped cars offer the 3 months radio access service with the travel part usually longer.

What makes you say that? Did the dealer tell you that or did you assume since most cars come with the 3 months complimentary.
I picked my car up May 9th and the sales people did not even have their meeting to go over the Genesis. I think I knew more about the car than they did. That is also why I think the dealer was wrong about the comp time.

I also thought I had 3 years, but I received a letter this week telling me the trial was up September 1st. They've tried calling me at work every day this week and I've added the number to my auto reject list. I like the radio service, but at $175/yr or even the promotional rate of $100/yr feels like a ripoff to me.

Obviously an error was made. Buck up folks and pay for XM like everybody else does after the 3 month trial period. :D

Look at your window sticker - at least mine was clear: it said "Sirius XM Travel Link including 3-Year Complimentary Services". It didn't say anything about XM radio or suggest more than the 3 month free trial for XM Radio that my dealer told me was included!

I subsequently got a letter from Sirius XM a month or so after picking up the car that did say "Your new Hyundai Genesis is equipped with a 36-month trial subscription ....to the SiruisXM All Access package". However the letter had conflicting info: in the upper right hand corner, it lists the Active SiriusXM Services and shows 3 months for both satellite and internet radio and 3 years for Traffic and Travel Link. So I assumed the 3 year radio reference in the letter was a typo which, via e-mail and a new letter just received from SiriusXM, is now confirmed to be the case.

Mistakes happen and Siruis is just clarifying the situation. They wouldn't make much money if they gave away 3 year trials - the 3 month is a teaser to hopefully sell you on signing up for the long haul! To me, anyone who thought they had 3 years XM radio at the time of purchase either didn't read their window sticker carefully or had an uniformed salesman!

< has lifetime subscription :) under the old old old policy which didn't state how many times it could be transferred. It just costs $75 for each swap to a new vehicle and they even waived the fee once which was cool. I like the stations they offer well enough, combine that with my Spotify subscription plus the Jukebox and I don't listen to the same song twice in a week unless I choose to lol. The traffic portion of the XM service has always been very hit and miss, most of the time my phone alerts me of traffic before XM does.

Waze is great for traffic (and hidden police speed traps too :))

Got it.

So if they’re sending me a letter that “they” made a mistake in telling me I had 3 years of XM radio. That it was a “Systems error” and they apologize for the mistake. I am at fault for the misunderstanding or someone other than them are. Hmmm
