My 2012 Rspec had a slight anoying pull to the right and I brought in in for my 7500mi check. I have continental's.

They checked the allignment and found it to be out and corrected it.
When I drove it home, the pull to the right was still there.

Brought it back and they put it on the new wheel/tire balancing maching and found the right tire needed to be remounted with a 180* shift and then moved to the left front.

Seemed fine after that driving around town, but I just took a trip and over 60-70 mph it now has a pull to the left!

Am I going crazy!!!!
Any thougths?

I would bet that the tires are bad. People that have had these issues go through tons of aggravation, repeated trips to alignments shop, tires rebalanced where they finally get sick of it and just buy a set of michelins or bridgestones and guess what, problem fixed.

I bought Conti DWS and pulled bad to the right. Replaced with the new General GMax and immediately pull was corrected.

thanks, so are you saying just replace one, or all four nned to be replaced?...
will the dealer pay?
Mine came with the "ContiProContact"
what's your opinion of these?

There's nothing wrong with these tires per say, but my experience is that most continental tires are @ss. I have had poor experience with conti and pirelli tires but that's anecdotal evidence. A warranty card should have come with your genesis for the tires that came with the car. I would suggest talking to the dealer about replacing the tires first and see what they say. If they balk at paying for them but state that the tires are the reason the car rides poorly then you have a warranty claim against continental to, at the bare minimum, replace the tires with the identical set.

Your not the only one having this problem.
i just got a new set of tires on my Genesis and it is doing the same thing. i just got my genesis back last friday and i took a 100 mile trip and it is doing the same Damn thing. this is a copy of my last post and this is an e-mail from one of Hyundai service manager I just thought i would post an update on this story. after two weeks dealing with the Hyundai dealership and being told they would not pay for anything" tires" reason behind it it is there company policy that they do not rotate tires until 15,000 miles . i then place a phone call to Genesis connect and i was told the same thing when they had call the service dept. long story short Hyundai region manager got my case and went to work and this is a copy of what happen:

Martha, I spoke with Mr. Pope regarding the tires wearing abnormally on his new Genesis and offered to replace them as a goodwill repair. Long story, but I don’t think his local dealer handled the situation very well in the beginning and led up to the tires being ruined in less than 13,000 miles. Lets re

place all 4 tires and perform an alignment to ensure he gets the performance and life out of the tires he deserves. I advised the customer to contact you directly at to ensure the tires have arrived and schedule an appointment. Lets schedule accordingly and provide a loaner vehicle while his vehicle is in for repairs

After the alignment has been done the car is still pulling to the left. Big time on the Hwy i first thought it was the road but confirm it was not the road . i got a phone call today saying that i need to bring the car back to the dealership and that a Hyundai consumer manger was going to be in the area for him to test and drive the car and that he was going to try to fix or get to the point of the problem. i have now taken it to the service for the 5th time for this problem..

I'm waiting to hear from my service manager...what they plan on doing...

They put the oem tires back on it

I've posted this before, but when I first had my car it pulled to the left. My car was hit and I lost one of the wheels, they replaced the wheel and did an alignment. At the same time I replaced the tires. It still pulled to the left. Then I got a winter set of wheels and tires. NO PULLING! Summer came back around and I put the summer wheels/tires back on, pulling is back. So I suspect something in a tire or wheel. It is a little annoying, but I don't care enough about it to make a fuss.

Thanks, but it's important to know which brand of tires you had in each case?

It's been ok since they replaced my tires...

Ive been told that its a safety feature.. That it pulls ever soo slightly to rhe right to help if someone passes out/falls asleep/heart attack ect at the wheel, the alight pull will help avoid a direct head on collision.. Makes sense that your car would venture off to the right instead of to the left in opposite lane of cars coming at you.. Dealership here in texas told me rhis. Cant confirm but with soo many people having this issue it might bbe true

That is complete and total lie (what your dealer said, not what you said).

Pulling to the left (and sometimes right) has been a problem with the Genesis since its USA intro in 2009. There are hundreds of posts on the subject going back to 2009 and since then. The reason is likely that, to make the steering more responsive (and not be a floater), Hyundai adjusted the suspension in such a way (maybe excessive negative camber, etc) that while it is more responsive (especially when cornering), it is also more prone to steering off coarse on straight line roads when there is not a firm grip on the wheel.

The problem is very dependent on tires, and the OEM Dunlops where terrible in this regard. But whatever tire you have, make sure you get frequent rotations, and make sure they are always properly inflated (33 PSI).

Ahh i see.. Thanks for the info

I just put on new Falken 722's 275/40/19 on back and 245/45/19 staggered setup on front.. Rides better than the 50 profile pirrellis i had on previously...

the service manager think that it could be either steering wheel is not centered or the Rim needs to be replaced

I would immediately leave that dealership and write a letter to their GM questioning the competence of that service manager.

An off-center steering wheel will NOT result in a "pull". The car will steer normally but the wheel will be off-center.

The rim may or may not be an issue but most probably not. A bent rim will cause a pulsation in the steering wheel which can easily be felt. A rim that is mis-aligned (the center is not parallel to the outer rim) could cause a pull but it is not likely on cast rims and is easily diagnosed.
