  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

DAMN!

I'm not that much into my stereo system. But I did just recetly pick up a 70" HD TV, Yamaha 7.1 surround receiver and a full set of Klipsch titanium speakers.

I'm, an over 50 power junkie. :) still married with 2 kids.

I used to drive a 600 HP blown small block chevy truck to work every day. One day some guy asked me "WHY?" My answer, because I can. :)

I still have a bagger Harley with over 100 HP/100TQ at the rear wheels. I can blow away a lot of bikes with it. I can also hold my own in the twisties with the crotch rockets. Why, because I can. :)

So for me, it was pretty much a no brainer this time around to get the R Spec.

My next "toy". Build a 500 HP Factor Five Racing Cobra replica. :)

Nice, no bikes for me:(...my boss (wife) won't allow that. I had some crazy run ins with cops and motorcycles when I was younger. My spending money is split between computers, tablets, smartphones and cars LOL.

I can completely understand. Everyone has their toys. For me it is my stereo system. My speakers alone were over $20k and I have at least that much more in electronics.

I like cars, but obviously not as much as you!

LOL, the truth finally comes out. We knew the $ was going somewhere else if not into the R Spec upgrade! He likes stereos better than he likes cars:) Very nice system!

Sigh . . wonderful stuff. Unfortunately, I'm over 60 and my hearing is damaged to the point that others would be appreciating it more than me.

So my next real toy is a new C7 - in red - the minute they're into the second model year! :D:D

Now that is a toy I can also agree on. The boss would call it a mid-life crisis car and I would love every minute of it.

We all have our vices.

I've got a few too many.

My '06 Harley I built.

My 400 gallon Saltwater tank. I also did all of the woodwork from scratch. Along with building the room it's in.

The 600 HP/600TQ balanced/blueprinted 383 stroker motor I built.

My 1954 Cushman scooter project I got from my Dad when he passed away. I've currently stuck in a 420 CC motor and am working on a CVT tranny for it. That's the same Harley in the background before I modified it.

The blue truck in the background after I modifed it for the wife.

My neighbor taking my wife for a ride in his Cobra, my next project.

6 years?

Just got here. What did I miss??
Wondering why you dug up this turkey thread that died and was buried for 6 years? I predict it will quickly sink to the bottom only to be revisited in 2025. Sorry for my comment as I just prolonged the life of this thread by another 30 seconds.

BYE BYE (hopefully)

I would be willing to bet that a stock 4.6 liter Genny will not hit 5.5 secs from 0-60. I don't care what the hyundai stat sheet claims.

I was driving on a deserted road yesterday so figured i'd do some 0-60 runs in my 2010 4.6.

First run i had esc on, from a dead start and just floored it in automatic. i looked down and was shocked to see 8.3 seconds come up. so figuring i timed wrong or messed up something i went again

this time i did a rolling start at about 5 mph, esc off and full auto mode. this time i managed a 7.6

not knowing what to think, i did a third one. this time with esc on, rolling start, and in manual mode. still was at 7.8

Granted my measuring with an iPhone stop watch isn't the most accurate, but this is absurd! where is my power? I'm worried the engine is misfiring, but no lights are on. on a good note i was getting 33 mpg highway, but i'm really questioning what could be wrong here

any ideas?
run it with the AC off traction control off and break toque it if it has a maunual mode you can try to use it.

OK, note to myself to UNWATCH this thread that has no interest to me as to whether my G80 will or won't shave a tenth or a second off the zero to 60 mark. When I test drove the G80, I mashed it once and it was fast enough for me. If anyone is truly interest in rocketing off the starting line, I would recommend a Tesla.

My 2010 3.8 will do 0-60 in 6 sec by just getting on the throttle, ESC on, climate control running. I'm pretty sure the V-8 is faster. Oh dammit! Did I just keep this thread alive? Sorry y'all.

Mine runs 8.3-8.7 if I try it with esc on or off, it has 65,000 mile all season tires and by the time it starts to build any power the stupid computers kill it. If I pull the fuse I can get 5.0-5.2 without lowering the tire pressure, it spins a little from the top half of 1st through the lower 3rd of 2nd, it also breaks loose a little switching to 3rd.

There isn't anything wrong with keeping a thread like this alive, there aren't enough of them.

I agree. My 2012 5.0 non r spec is about 6.1 on a good day. It’s a boat. A fast boat. But…

Vehicular Hypochondria

A severe mental disability in which sufferers chronically experience acute anxiety attacks related to the welfare of their vehicles. A typical vehicular hypochondriac may face bouts of depression and paranoia stemming from the false belief that his/her car is malfunctioning when it is in fact operating in perfect order.

Sane Human Being: Why are you giving away all of your earthly possessions and digging a large hole in the ground in front of a tombstone with your name on it?

Vehicular Hypochondriac: Well, my check engine light came on today. I'm going to die.
Lol That was extremely hilarious 🤣 😂
