  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is anybody experiencing this or is it just me. This is my 1st Turbo car so not sure if it's Turbo lag I'm experiencing or slow pedal response. Any thoughts?

What mode are you in? I'd expect slow response in ECO but not in SPORT.

^ Get one of these. I have one by a different manufacturer in my GTI. Throttle response is a night and day difference when it's in use. I'm planning to pick one up when I buy a G70 in a few months.

I find the pedal has a lot more resistance than my Maxima did, so I need to push harder than previously was the case. I also had a sprint booster installed in the Maxima which made a tremendous difference in pedal response, so I may get something similar for my G70 at some point down the road.

All modes. Not during rolling at low rpm in low gear. But almost all other times. Even from a stop

But is that the similar feeling you had before getting the petal tuner?

So I guess a few of you notice this also and it's not just me.

What was your last car, @CoconutRob ? I feel like the G70 has great throttle response in Sport mode, for a turbo'd car. I think it's easy to get used to the power once the turbos spool, and anything below that feels sluggish.

Now my wife's WRX...ugh. That thing is dead, literally no throttle response under 3k rpm, and even above that it still sucks compared to the G70. Haha.

My point is, I assume you're just used to NA engines? Can't beat the throttle response on those.

Doesn't the JB4 have a pedal tuning option built in? From linear to non linear!

Yes. I've had turbo cars for a while so I had gotten used to how to adjust for the lag at initial throttle and until the turbo spooled up. After having the responder (depending on the setting), there is basically zero lag.

So I watched a couple of videos on the BMS Pedal Tuner. I understand everything...but not really...LOL. It obviously does not make your car accelerate faster, etc...right?

What does it really do? I mean...when I hit the gas pedal now...my car rockets away. What am I missing here? Pretty friggin expensive as well.

I never owned a turbo car only naturally aspirated motors. So if your cruising at 40mph and you floor the petal I feel a delay that seems like the petal but maybe it's the lag. But other times I feel there is a petal response delay.

Only NA engines Grand prix, S40, GMC envoy, z06, miats, Camry, jeep wrangler, z28, S10, Geo storm, cavalier, Nissan pickup, dodge van. Lol
Never owned a turbo or throttle by wire.

I guess it tightens up the parameters. No dont believe it would make the car faster. Feel faster? Maybe. Make it too touchy? Maybe.
