This week we got the winter blast but it was mainly just cold but we did have an hour of a slushy freezing rain hit. So my 2015 had a thinnish layer of ice coating the windshield and rear window. I forgot to bring an ice scraper so I remote started the car a couple of times toward the end of the work day to get things heated up. So when I got into the car, I turned on the rear defroster/mirror defroster. My drive is about 25 minutes so as I got halfway home I started to realize how horrible the rear defroster actually is. It barely made a dent in clearing the window. I know it works because I could see the lines slowly being melted away but it never cleared the window, so basically seeing any traffic behind me was based on using side mirrors, which were of course frozen in place and no indication that the mirror heaters were working or not.
So is anyone living in snow/ice areas having similar issues or is it just how this car is made to work?
