  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

hello, I bought recently genesis 2012 4.6L and the smart cruise control is showing auto canceled with yellow exclamation mark . If I turn off and on the car, it will work fine for a while then canceled again . What should I do?

Has it ever been in an accident? It could be caused by a cracked radar, or if it's mis-aligned due to a bent bracket if it was in an accident. Either way, you'll have to take it to the dealer or maybe a body shop, so they can see what the readings are, or to align it properly.

Never been in accident . Where is the radar located ? can you send me a photo showing its location so I may check the alignment and if it's dirty to clean it. Is there a way to switch to normal cruise control in my car? if yes please show me how

It's behind the lower grille. You'll see it. There's a black square in the lower grille that covers it. Hopefully it's just out of alignment. If it's not, last I looked, that radar was around $4k new.

And no, no way to go to normal cruise.

Any photo showing where is the radar installed? couldn't see it . Thanks

LOTS of things can go wrong with the SCC system, as it has many inputs.

I've had it auto cancel (yellow warning) on bumpy roads or when crossing railroad tracks while using the cruise control to accelerate. I could feel the rears break loose just for a split second. This triggers the stability control and shuts down the SCC. So inconsistent wheel speed or faulty/failing wheel speed sensor might be tripping it. Snow, rain etc. on a very slick road might do it too.

The problem is when it's auto canceled , I can't turn it again until I turn off the car and on again ...is this normal?

No it's not normal. When mine trips over a railroad track, I can reset it after a couple seconds. So you may want to get yours looked at.

Can you show me where on the attached photo I'm sending now coz I couldn't see it

Thank you , I've seen it now, I will try to clean it and see.
One more question : How to change the country in the navigation map ??

Cleaning it won't help. It'll take a good 1/4 - 1/2" of snow/slush/ice buildup to cause it to act up. Normal road grime and dirt will not cause the problem you're having.

Yes you are right, I clean it and the problem still the same.
SCC auto canceled and cannot turn it on again unless i restart the car completely .
I wonder what is the problem specially in the agency they said no issues after they did computer check using their Ipad >
Any suggestion ?

Just like mine, and the controller is not the (expensive!!) solution. Really wonder if there is a particular solution. And it appears there no way to just “turn off” the scc and just run normal cruise control, sort of a “gotcha!)…. 😬

Correct. In the 1st gen Genesis (2011-2014) the "Smart" radar-driven part of the cruise control cannot be disabled leaving you with a traditional functioning "dumb" cruise control. It's all or nothing with the 1st gen. The 2015+ second gen Genesis can, however, do it.
