  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

smart cruise control detects stopped vehicles?

I have the 22 G70 and useI SCC a lot mainly on highway but occasionally in city. I definitely notice that sometimes it's too late on braking even when I've been following the same car for a while, it almost seems like it's still expecting the car in front of me to release the brake and speed up at any second (but we are approaching a red light), it does keep going until the last second then it slams the brake, I honestly find that quite annoying.

There are even cases when I'm following a vehicle and it's stopping, I know my car is seeing it (according to the cluster) yet it brakes so late that I get the collision warning, I find that funny because the car knows the vehicle ahead is stopping, it knows my speed and it knows the distance, yet somehow still fails to brake on time lol

In some cases I just brake manually to avoid all that, or increase the following distance, usually I use the closest distance in city, otherwise I feel like the distance is too far and the car would brake constantly, it's kinda dangerous because I fear someone behind me might rear end me.

That has not been my experience using two bars for distance. You may get a smoother braking that way, not worse. Same as when you are manually driving, if you tailgate you'd be hitting the brakes harder in the short distance to react.
