  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Smart Cruise on '15

Had mine a year. SCC does not work well on winding roads as stated by others. Works and can be reengaged in stop and go, BUT hitting the set button sets the max speed to your slow speed. I have found it to be VERY jerky in long stop and go situations, the pause before acceleration allows cars to cut in front of you thus re-braking suddenly. With passengers, I stopped using it all together.
All in all, I think the software is crude on the 2015, both in this, the LKA not keeping center, giving false alarms, not being reliable at keeping you in the lane and the fact that drive mode has to be set each time.

I wanted to add my experience. Do not bother to use it on very curvy roads with a car in front of you, but gentle curves do not present a problem. The other kind of scary thing that can happen is when the car in front of you changes lanes coming up to a red light and the SCC will accelerate pretty well and not immediately see a stopped car not that far ahead, so will then brake hard. A few times it prompted me to brake manually, just in case. I agree that the acceleration from a dead stop after pressing Resume when the light turns green is rather lackadaisical, but it is better than riding the ass of the car in front of you. Other than that, I love it and use it most of the time. I even use it to set my speed as soon as I get rolling, if you hit Set at very low speed it starts at 20 mph, then you can hold Resume and have it jump up 5 mph every second or so until you get where you want to be. My previous smart cruise (G37xS) would not work below 20 mph, either slowing down or speeding up, so this is a VAST improvement in convenience.

One other reason I like it is that mostly all the cops do in my neck of the woods is set radar traps to write tickets, apparently they are under orders to become a profit center for local govt and all other crime has stopped I guess. And I am not kidding, I have been stopped for 15-17 over 6 times in the past 10 years and never once gotten only a warning; clear dry day, empty road, they couldn't care less. And it only happens when I don't use the SCC.

Thanks tx1234 but this does not answer question: know you can supposedly use gas pedal to resume, but whole point is to NOT have to use pedal but instead be able to set cc, have car auto stop when car in front stops, tap to resume, stop automatically when car in front stops, tap to resume over and over and over, and that's tap THE RESUME BUTTON not the pedal. That's what i need a user to actually confirm: that they use the Genesis 2015 cruise in stop and go traffic and never have to use pedal!

i love love love my ACC in traffic. I set the car distance to the lowest setting. It takes off quickly and follows with about 2 car lengths or less. In stop and go traffic. When the car in front of me stops long enough and the ACC "cancels", you just have to tap a button on the steering wheel to reactivate.

You never have to use your feet if you don't want. I usually keep mine by the brake, just in case i need it.
