Smart Key Programming

I have had my 2015 V8 sedan for two weeks now. Great car but I am hoping that someone can verufy some information for me. I have saved the user memory settings (seats, steering erc) for #1 and #2 but it seems that these settings are not linked to my smart key The dealer has told me that the smart key cannot be linked to the individual user settings. . I cannot believe that this is possible given the level of tech in this car. Has anyone else had a similar experience ?

Yeah, that's the way it seems to work. In our previous Honda (2013) and our 07 Lexus the fobs were recognized by the car but not this one.

I can "verufy" that the first gen Genesis doesn't do it either. However, you can open the driver's door and push the #1 or #2 button to set your preference before you climb into the car.

Yeh I know it’s a shame. I miss that. I posted that a while ago with my 2011 Genesis and said that my 2007 Infiniti G even had unlike color FOBs each one would set its own settings. That was 2007 mind you.

Owner's manuals don't typically address features that aren't included as implied by the question.

If it is not in the owner's manual, then it is very unlikely that the feature exists.

My 2004 Eddie Bauer expedition had this capability, came in handy as I am 6 1" 225 lbs and my wife is 5 3" 110 lbs. Seems kinda silly omitting what I would think would be a basic function.

There are all kinds of patents for keyless entry systems. Wouldn't surprise me if that feature is patent protected and Hyundai couldn't get or wouldn't pay for a license.

You may be correct, but keep in mind that Hyundai probably buys the keyless entry/start system from a vendor (like many other systems in the car). Their vendor may not have that feature available.

This would be interesting to know since this feature is pretty much ubiquitous on cars with a memory seat function starting around $10k less than the Genesis. I can't imagine cost is a huge concern, but who knows.
