  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have read the previous thread on the proper operation of my 2023 G70 smart trunk. It operates perfectly well except it does not swing open automatically. It does unlock automatically when I walk behind the car or hit the remote trunk open button. Do I need to bring it to the dealership or is this an easy adjustment? Truthfully, I’m not very anxious to go to the dealership but will if necessary.

The power trunk will open all the way each time. The non-powered trunk may need a helping hand to fully open. Smart trunk is a feature for both the powered and the non-powered trunk. It has nothing to do with your complaint. Smart trunk is the feature that pops the trunk when you stand behind your locked car with the smart key, without pressing any buttons.

Easy to answer that. Open the trunk, it should open all the way if powered. If powered, there will be a close button on the inside of the trunk lid. Press it, and the trunk will close itself (you can also close it by holding the trunk button in the cabin). If it doesn't have the button/doesn't close itself, it is not a powered trunk.

All I can find out from the Genesis site is that I have a non powered “hands free” trunk. Sometimes it opens when it is supposed to open. Mostly it just doesn’t open even after I hear it unlock and other times it either opens or waits a minute then opens. I believe from my past G70 it should unlock and open almost immediately. Oh well off to the Genesis service Dept on Saturday.
