  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So similar to other users here, I have an issue with the EGR monitor. Installed new battery changed in Dec, 4k miles, cycle will not reset. Last time around Win Hyundai in Los Angeles was able to do the drive cycle reset, but unfortunately they have been taken over by another company and no longer offer the service. If anyone has had luck with finding someone who can do the cycle reset, please do let me know.

Thanks. Just updating the thread in case someone in the future finds this helpful for the Socal/Los Angeles area.

Glendora Hyundai (ask for John) was able to reset the cycle. Charged for one hour of labor - $140. Basically they had two techs in the car, one driving, other with a computer plugged in. Cycle has something like 17 monitors that need to go green, and took them about 30 miles of driving to get them all to switch to ready. Got the car back yesterday, passed the smog same day.

I'm in same situation but in NorCal. Tried to do the drive cycle myself but no luck. Local shop tried 4 times on the dyno and still reading not ready. Going to reach out to Dublin Hyundai this week to see if they can help.

Reading through this registration/emissions circus y'all have to go through in California it honestly sounds like the simpler & cheaper solution would be to either: 1-move out of states that require that level of emissions nonsense or 2- arrange to rent a mailbox and address from someone in a state that has no emissions and register it there. Not offering, just a thought.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
The easiest thing is to not own a 2010 Hyundai Genesis in California. Would have sold mine before moving out here if I knew about this issue. Got mine reset by Dublin Hyundai yesterday for $185.

For future reference many have had success running the drive cycle from the KIA Borrego to get the EGR monitor to complete. Find it here:
