  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone have experience with the Sport Prestige and the 21 inch tires in the snow?

I can only give you a partial answer as I switched to snow tires just as the snow was starting here. I own the GV70 Sport Plus AWD which is the top Canadian model. I've owned this car since July and have driven 14,500 km. My impression is this car is TERRIFIC in snow, but ... early in the snow season I upgraded to the snow tires my Genesis dealer had in stock, Continental VikingContact 7 235/55R19 H XL. As you can see these are not the 21 inch tires. I'm in Calgary, Alberta and there is plenty of snow on the ground today so I’ve been driving with the "terrain mode = snow" setting and the drive mode selector to ECO.
The 21 inch all season tires that came with the Sport Plus worked fine in snow but there wasn’t a lot of snow on the ground before I switched to snow tires.

I have the 21" in Sport Prestige trim and commented on this in a prior thread:

They were great, the trucks been great. My civic needs snow tires, the truck does not

I got caught in a rare snow storm in Eugene Oregon over the holidays and the stock Michelin's were just fine. The AWD with the limited slip does the tricck. I had some snow/icy mountain passes as well and great traction. I don't live in a snowy climate but even if I did I would see no need for snow tires. That's why Genesis opted for a good all season tire on this vehicle..

Been using it in the Cleveland area this winter and it does great in the snow. We had a day of over 16 inches, and it performed just fine in the plowed but still snow-covered roads. I personally see no reason to put snow tires on it for use in Northeast Ohio.

While we have had no major snow events this year here in WI; our GV70(new in Nov) has performed phenomenally. We have the 21s and sport prestige. I would not change a thing about the wheel size or the rubber they put on stock. Better than any similar vehicle we have owned: ChevyTrailBlazer, Cadillac SRX to name a few

Amazing during the ice storm a few weeks ago in Dallas.
