  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I bought a set of rims and had snow tires installed. Storage space in my garage is at a premium, and hauling 4 55 pound tires to and from the basement twice a year is pretty tiring for an old guy. I installed a Racor overhead storage rack in my garage - I think it looks pretty good and solves the problem nicely: just load the tires on and crank it up to the ceiling.

Got mine at Amazon for $130.77

Paid a contractor $100 to install it (I can't do ladders since a stroke a few years ago). If you're young and healthy you can do this yourself - it's not complicated.

Did you switch the stock TPMS sensors, or did you go for different sensors?

With no sensors, you will have the TPMS lamp on all the time.

The new rims came with sensors. I just need to initialize them when the snow tires are installed.

FYI, Canadian car do not have TPMS for the simple reason they do not work well at all in our colder climates. Had them on my Murano and they were nothing but a PITA. Makes for less problems and definitely less cost/headaches when installing winter wheels. ;)
