  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone have any real world driving experience with putting snow tires on a 2015 3.8 AWD Genesis. I am thinking about trading in my 2012 4.6 Genesis and taking my snow tires from my 2012 and putting them on the new AWD Genesis. Does anyone know if they will fit for sure? Dealer said he believes so.

Are the tires the same size? If the wheels are not 18" in diameter, there may be an issue with the fit over the brakes.

The winter wheel/tire recommendation for a 2015 AWD Genesis is to use the same size as OEM although you could probably go to a narrower higher profile tire as long as the rolling radius is the same as OEM. For the 3.8 the tires are all the same size, front & back. There may be a 17" wheel that might fit the 2015 AWD but I think most will foul the brake calipers. I was told the wheel offset for the 2015 models is different to Gen1 cars, so if you have a wheel/tire combination from your 2012, I'm not sure they will fit. If it is tires only then you may be OK.

I picked up my new 2015 3.8 AWD Caspian Black w Ivory Genesis on Monday and love it so far. My snows left over from my 2012 4.6 Genesis are Michelin X-Ice 235/50 x 18. The 2015 came with the new Michelins 245/45 x 18. I took the new Genesis to my local tire shop and he looked at the snows and the bolt pattern of the wheels that they are on and it said they should fit perfectly. He said they usually recommend that you slightly downsize snow tires so these should be a perfect fit and should work well. I will be putting them on as soon as the temperature cools down a little as it was 70 degrees today in Connecticut.

Congratulations!
