IT SUCKED!!!!! I was so upset. It took me 2 hrs to get to the Atlanta Arts Festival, which is inside Peidmont Park. I didn't know this but it still didn't add to my traffic time and looking for parking
ANYWAY.......... So I FINALLY get there with some excitement to test the V8 against it's competitors and to my displeasure, they didn't have it setup that way. As some of you experienced, having the chance of testing the Genesis against the CTS, E-Class and so forth. They only had the V6's and V8's because there was NO track for this type of event to take place.
I was greeted by a very nice guy who was playing around with the V8/Tech Pkg., entertainment system. He invited me in and showed me the car
I asked about the "real" event and he explained that because of the limited space there were just able to have people test drive the vehicle in the street or inside the park - unfortunately nothing hardcore like some of you experienced
In any event, I went and test drove a V8 w/ Tech Pkg and immediately I felt the difference in the leather. It was softer and also seemed like it had alittle more bolster than the V6. So I got comfy and off we went..... I said to the guy, "I'm going to try and make the best of this test drive because I'm not coming back." - He said go on ahead.... So while he's talking, I'm testing the car's dynamics. I was very impressed.... If you pay close attention to the transmission, you can tell that the behavior is different than the Aisin. I'm not talking about gearing either. It's buttery smooth, quiet, no jerk gear shifting. The V8 is more throttle happy than the V6. The suspension is alittle stiffer than the V6; that might be an issue for some but I liked it. When you put the car in R, the rear shade goes down and the rear camera appears on your entertainment screen.
Overall, I was very impressed. My decision has been made... V8 w/ Tech Pkg it is
Now the wait...
By the way, I got some goodies for test driving and doing a survey... Mini brochure, which I already had. A Sunglasses cleaning cloth with a picture of the Genesis on it, Zagat Atlanta book, a Hyundai energy drink, which show the specs of the TAU 4.6 and my $500 coupon
- Sorry for the poor pic!
Oh, another thing.... HYUNDAI, YOU CHEATED ATLANTA OUT OF THE "REAL" EVENT!!!
