If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello-
I am new to this forum and have been lurking for the last couple weeks and have enjoyed reading all the posts etc.

I bought a Caspian Black 2015 3.8 AWD Genesis with Signature & Tech package just about 3 weeks ago. The front bumper already has more bug and other indentations in 3 weeks than any car I have ever owned. I do not tailgate etc and these are not chips but, impact marks or small "dents" in the paint. The paint is so soft on the front bumper I can leave a mark applying very light pressure with my fingernail.

Anybody else having this problem??

I would be in the dealers body shop post haste, that does not sound right that it marks that easily with a fingernail.

Sounds like yours may be defective.

Here's my wife's after 2 weeks of her daily commute. She does follow relatively closely to vehicles ahead IMO.

Welcome to the forum ComixZone. I recommend (as others have) getting that car back to the dealer. They will surely fix you up.

Went to get an oil change at dealer I bought my Genny from yesterday and they offered to wash my car afterwards. Sure why not I thought. While waiting for over 1 hr, i went outside and notice they were washing Hyundais with a pressure washer. Hmm...I thought. So I was getting impatient and walked to the bay where i originally brought the car in for oil change. Low and behold they were just pulling my car up. Before I took my keys, I inspected the CRAP out of the car. Well what do you know, CLEARCOAT/PAINT missing from the front bumper. Hmm..
I was pissed. I talked to every manager and the service guy saw it. I did not get in the car. So now I have to take it back at a later date to have a paint guy come and look at it. Will take 4 days to paint it they said. i bet you it will not be right. I have White-Satin-Pearl. Sigh...
I am on strike 2 with this Genny...1 more I am trading it in....

I am also in the Carolinas. Do you mind telling me which dealer you are having problems with?

Almost sounds like someone forget to add the hardener to the clear-coat paint at the factory that day.

I've had the 2015 Gen for close to two months and taken it for 3 long drives for work. Tons of kms on the highway and high speeds. Not one stone chip on the front bumper. My 2012 Genesis Coupe had soft paint for sure.....the 2015 sedan, not so much. Very happy with the quality.

Take it to the dealer as this is totally unacceptable especially for what you paid.

Hi

Unfortunately I had to drive to Taylor Hyundai in Augusta GA as they had the BEST deal at the time (Sept). It is so inconvenient as I work in Wilmington NC and drive there every week. Sigh. The dealership as a whole is not BAD but they are not organized at all in my opinion. I swear, if one more thing happens again I am going to trade it at another dealership.

Welp,

I dropped the car yesterday at the dealer and they loaned me a 2013 Elantra Limited. They said it will take about 4 day or so. I will give them a week.
If this does not work or the results are not satisfactory, what should I do?
Trade it, refuse it or just take it else where?

I had my Platinum Silver rear bumper cover replaced due to some scratches, which means they had to paint the new one. It was done at an independent collision repair shop and I think it looks fine, and I doubt that anyone can tell the difference.

Next time they ask if you want your car washed, just say no. That's what I do.

Amen to that!!! Here is question, can i put the 3M bumper cover (clear) on it and still try to wax the bumper/area?

You can but I don't recommend it. 3M and other companies make products specifically for clear bra material to keep it looking good.

"Wax" i.e. carnauba-based products will cause a clear bra to yellow.

Optimum Opticoat and other similar type products are great for protecting clear bras too.

well, my hook has a chip in it already. had the car for 10 months. what could hyundai do for me for the paint chipping so easily? i would think they are not going to do anything about it but will they have a soultion?

Quick update: (sorry for jacking thread) Apparently the SLACK dealership replaced and painted the whole bumper. They did a GREAT JOB with paint but the CLEANUP was terrible.
Paint/powder residue on my seats and floor mats (thank goodness I keep plastic covers on them). Just a tip, DO NOT GO TO TAYLOR HYUNDAI in AUGUSTA GA for NOTHING.
