  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Software Update

Map Updates are supposedly sold by mapnsoft.com aka M&Soft and Map Center. You can call them at 1.888.757.0010 M-F 8AM-5PM. They might be the vendor selling the maps. At one time they did mention the Genesis in their map update list. The maps could be a dealer update or like Infiniti where you buy a coupon from Mapnsoft.com and then redeem it at the dealer for the map update. Thats how Infiniti does it. Then again Mapnsoft.com and Hyundai want DIY map updates. On the LS460 the dealer does the update and it costs $265 which includes the map plus the labor costs. Takes about an hour for the LS and Infiniti systems. Will probably take about an hour or so to update the DIS system found in the Genesis.

So today I went to Power Hyundai in Scottsdale AZ for my first service.
My NAV/Radio were fine. They tried to apply the T63 update and after three tries quit because the second DVD of 3 was rejected.
The technicians called Hyundai tech support all day and got no response from the tech people.
My radio is OK but NAV stoppd working and all works Verrrrry slooooowly.
They promise to get this fixed.
My beef is with Hyundai tech support.
What right do they have not to call back all day to a dealership needing help?
I called the consumer line and was told by the only person i oculd reach that he would call a regional manager- obviously a useless ploy.
I am really pissed. Hyundai national should have resources for dealeer service, and the dealer-Power Hyundai should ahve checked the system before releasing the car to me with inoperable NAV and no warning.
Not quite ready to give up on them, but if they want to play against the big boys, they will have to provide quality service.

If you haven't had a chance to read the TSB, check it out here:

It points out that the update disks have to be processed sequentially, and un-interrupted. Bad things happen [as you unfortunately found out] when an update process starts, but does not finish. Dealerships should have more than one set of update disks to prevent these interruption issues. Sorry you had such a bad go of it today. :(

I went through the same thing. They finally, after 1 week of my car sitting there, tried it again, and it went through this time. Tell your dealer to try it again, and touch absolutly NOTHING! It will probably go through, as mine did. Good luck. Very fustrating, I know.
