I think the max is 16GB. I always used the old card. I have no idea why bigger would not work but I did read that some time back.

16G is the original size for my 2018. It is big enough to hold the maps, but not big enough for the maps and the software update. 32G is required for that. It won't accept anything bigger then 32G, however.

sorry been offline for ages, yep I allowed the updated to format the card as well but there are only couple of options to choose from, with the closest looking one being G70 stadnard class Gen 5, tried that option and not recognised in the car

You have a Hyundai Genesis Sedan. It is similar to a G80 (not remotely like a G70). You will not find your update in the Genesis brand area. You need to look for your update under the Hyundai brand.
