Solution for rear door window frame fading?

Hi, All-

I just noticed that the black coating on the rear window frame of my newly-acquired Genesis is rubbing off (see photo-sorry about the orientation). It's not clear to me whether this is paint, or some rubberized coating. What can be done about this? Is it an issue for a detailer, or a body shop?

What is the model year of your Genesis?

On some models there may be after-market pieces that you buy that just stick right on top those. Check out places like Korean Auto Imports.

I am sure that a body shop or dealer could replace the OEM Hyundai part, but not sure how much that would cost. I don't think they would try and refinish it, just replace it.

I used these solid piano black adhesive pillar covers (or something nearly identical to them) on my 2009 when it had similar peeling/fading issues and they came out great.

Here are some C-Piller covers that just stick on. They will be chrome color, instead of black, but will obviously be a lot less expensive than replacing with OEM parts.
