  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi, when I took delivery of my "G" 2 weeks ago I asked about the Service intervals, I was told 7500miles, I then asked if there was a 30day oil change/ courtesy check. NO, just drive straight thro' to 7500miles..OK..
To-Day I receive an email from the Dealership telling me my 3month service is
just around the corner???? ---------- Watz going On///

I deal with two different Hyundai dealers and both base their oil change recommendations on the severe duty chart which is 3500 miles. They can sell twice as much oil that way. Personally I did my first change at 5000 and every 5000 thereafter. I'm too old school to push it to 7500 although with the quality of the oils today, I'm sure it would be no problem.

RETRY:- Thanks for the info..............

3 month service is a cash grab.

would be a nice feature for the selling dealer to inspect the car at 3 months to ensure all bolts are tight ,etc. but they never check even if they did offer for free.

for me I'd prefer to have mobile one synthetic changed once a year for me ( i drive less the 7k a year). However i have free oil changes from dealer so i end up going every 6 months regardless of my miles... however its just plain dino oil.

ppp

Hi PP"
I'm probably around 10k per year..Usually I have an oil change/service etc.. every six months..Just before summer & then just before winter..
I will give the dealer a call & wind them up.. :D
They actually gave me a $200 service credit as part of the deal....
I used full synthetic in my Azera, I'm not sure there is any benefit with synthetic if the oil is changed regularly on a low mileage car..

I agree with your comments. Twice a year is just perfect if you drive 10,000 miles annually. Also agree that synthetic oil is a total waste of money given your mileage.
