  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I recently purchased. 2019 g70 sport after having same year g80 . I noticed an intermittent "attenuation" in the radio. It was repeatable with FM, XM, and even recorded music on iphone plugged directly in. I took it to local Genesis dealer who informed they have been seeing this issue. They scheduled appointment and installed a new radio assembly. After leaving the dealer, I immediately noticed the same issue, and worse, the new radio assembly had a completely different graphic display on the LCD. Like the new assembly isn't even the correct unit for the G70. That is separate issue, but the intermittent sound cutting out was not resolved . I spoke to some sound engineers who I personally know and it was suggested to see if this happens only when the car is running. His immediate theory was that something in the wiring is getting interference from the alternator. He was right . The issue only happens when the car is running. It is very annoying and now I have a display that is completely foreign to the original graohics and layout. Not even close to what the manual shows or to what I was already accustomed to .
Curious if any G70 owners have experienced this problem. Attached is the pic of the "new" graphics. Definitely not the layout that I had before.

Those "Nixie" tubes are from a software update last year (?). The newest update from a month ago deleted the tubes effect for standard white on black numbers of station frequency. Perhaps an update to this newest software SD card from a month ago will make the difference. I completed the newest update on my 2019 G70 30 minutes ago and all went well. About 30 minutes to complete.

Thanks. I did find this same display option on the 2022 g70's. I will try the upgrade. However the problem of this signal interference is unresolved. It is only occurring while the vehicle is running so it is probably a matter of some signal interference l in the wiring . That could be like finding a needle in a haystack. The engineers suggested that wire insulation or a bad connection/ground could be the culprit. One thing for certain, changing the radio assembly did not resolve the issue, in fact it seems to have made it worse .
Gensis dealer at least acknowledges they are aware of this. but I do not know if they have identified the problem. It goes back to the dealer Wednesday so we shall see what happens/
