  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Sounds like pistons hitting the heads

Please excuse my lack of Hyundai knowledge, however I am concerned about the sound the 3.8 Genesis engine is making on idle. Although not the loudest, it is def a noticeable "clicking". I have never had a vehicle that made this type of noise on idle. I have heard 4 cylinder Kia (small cars) sound like this, but I honestly would not expect it from this car. I have not had any problem starts, nor and engine trouble lights. Maybe I'm expecting too much from a Hyundai, but it only has 600 miles. I may take it to the dealer, but I don't want to waste their time nor mine if it is a "normal" sound for this brand of car. Thanks for any help in advance.

It is most likely the clicking sound of direct injection, which is normal for most DI engines. To make sure, you might want to have the dealer take another car in their inventory, start it and compare.
