I'm in the Tampa bay area. Pardon my ignorance but what exactly are these? Just a modification to the intakes? Does this net any performance gains?

These are Air ducts that channel more ambient air towards the intakes. This replaced the stock air duct.
Performance gains? Your air intakes will be able to get more fresh air
