  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have 104,000 and it says change at 105. Could someone please tell me what plug I should use and the gap. I can't find the plug in my owners manual and never got an answer what brand and # plug to use.
Thanks Bob

NGK 93135 {#DILKR7A11} Laser Iridium is the OEM. They are pre-gapped at 0.044 so you just need to install them. Did mine at 98k

Thanks for advice that what I need

2015 3.8 Genesis Sedan (G80) 106,000 miles. Dealer is recommending Spark plug change and I believe cleaning of the air intake/manifold intake. Anyway, is this standard and do you suggest I get it done? It will be about $600 for both services. will I see any difference in performance and or fuel efficiency?

Not sure how that cost breaks out but the cleaning will likely be a spray foam that will remove some of the build-up, but nothing like a bead blast (some use pecan shells) would.

If that was $150, the plugs would be $450, seems kinda high. But dealership usually is.

Thanks. Doesn't look very easy for me to change thee plugs myself. What's it take? Looks like a few things need to be removed to gain access to the plugs.

It seems like they always put a plug or two in an area that requires something else to be removed. I used to change plugs on my cars but that was back when they had 6" clearance all around. These days if I can't get in there with simple tools, I will pay someone to do it.

I guess what I was trying to imply was that you could possibly save a little money and go to another garage and have them change the plugs and clean out the intake. You could buy the plugs you want installed, that prevents them from grabbing what they happen to have in stock.

Actually it's a walnut shell blast, some have said a good quality clean out like that could cost $800 or more, folks on this forum that have had it done said the results were noticeable with better response, fuel economy, and acceleration. These GDI engines do build up junk over time.

You have to remove the upper half of the intake manifold. Some gaskets will likely have to be replaced when that is done.

Anyone know if the NGK Laser Iridium plugs are OE for the 2012 4.6 liter as well? The dealer gave me the part number Hyundai uses (Hyundai part# 1885011050) but I cannot find any cross reference guides for NGK. The dealer also could not tell me any of the properties of the factory plugs aside from the manufacturer, NGK.

Thanks I was just searching this myself. Dealership wants $30.00 each for theirs.
