  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all
I am at about 92000 miles and just got the oil and PS fluid changed at my dealership. They mentioned the 90k/105k "tune up". I do most of my own maintenance and know the plugs need replaced at some point of course. Most of the other stuff I can do also.

Looking online I see RockAuto showing NGK 93135 for the best to get at around $18/plug. I am all about getting the best when at all possible but not over the OEM part. Especially if electrical. On my last vehicle - an Acura TL, NGK made the OEM plugs and it was cheaper to buy the NGK vs the Acura ones.

With that being said, I see on another Hyundai parts site part # 18851-11070 is the one at $13/plug.

So just seeing if anyone has done this DIY (easy enough???) Or at the dealership so I can make sure to get the correct part numbers.

Thanks for any input!

So no one has replaced the plugs on the 5.0...????? :)
If not I will gladly tackle and take pictures and notes.

I changed the plugs on my 4.6 v8. It was not difficult at all.

I have not yet but yes it looks easy- UNLIKE getting this DANG P0441 engine code off so I can get my inspection THIS month...crazy as the car has been great. I have replaced certain parts and the dealer reset everything when I just got my oil and power steering fluid replaced.
well hope to figure out then replace the plugs for sure

Cool, well if you end up doing the spark plug change and throw out a write-up for it with pics I would certainly be interested in reading it.

As others have mentioned, it is nothing too terrible to accomplish and I am sure you (and I) would be able to handle it!
