  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How do i know if the spark plugs were really changed on my 2015 genesis 3.8 engine, as requested paid service.? There is no apparent improvement in engine performance and gas mileage. Also, no evidence of the intake manifold removal. Have not contact dealer yet.

Welcome! Just letting you know that this topic was moved out of the community lounge and into the second generation Hyundai Genesis Sedan forum.

You might want to have another mechanic check to see about the intake manifold removal. The only way to know for sure is to look at the spark plugs. Was there an issue with engine performance and fuel economy before the change?

Ask the dealer for the old parts. Any reputable shop will keep them to show you as proof of service. If they can't produce the old spark plugs, they likely weren't changed.

Unfortunately, too late now but good to ask beforehand..
One problem though, for many car owners. Do you know the plug number to look for? They could show the same plugs to most and get away with it.

Always look up the exact spark plug number for your specific engine in your owner's manual or a reliable parts database.
Dishonest shops might use a cheaper, "close enough" plug. To be safe, ask to see the old plugs and the new box they came from before the work is done.
