  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Here's a very interesting discussion of Corvette owners' experience with different products. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z06-discussion/1735292-clear-bra-3m-vs-venture-shield.html

I have a full front VentureShield wrap and am very happy with how it looks - the installer was excellent and the job is virtually invisible. Will see how it holds up over time, but it's already saved me two trips to the body shop for parking lot/valet scuffs on the driver's side fender.

According to 3M's website, looks like they bought VentureShield, this is making buying the clear bra more confusing.

For the amount of money those guys are paying you could get a new paint job.... I'm sure for $1000 you could get bumper/hood/both quarter panels done for that....?

How many times? If the film saves 2 or more trips to the body shop you're still $$ ahead, and you also won't have lost the use of your car for a couple of days per visit. For me, having the car in the shop for more than a day is a logistical headache because I don't have alternative transportation.

According to the people who installed my Venture shield they said>>> We used to carry 3m but then Venture shield came to the market which was a superior product. Being it was so much better, 3M (think of these guys as Windows and Bill Gates) bought Venture Shield. He now only carries Venture Shield as he warranties the product and the install for the life of the car and does not want any come backs as it is obviously at his expense.

Same with my installer (Cliff, with Auto Armour, Columbia, MD) - very skilled and committed to providing a good job. I had a problem with the film on my hood (I marred it trying to remove a spot of something - couldn't tell what it was, but it looked bad and my fooling around made it worse). I took it back and Cliff fixed it gratis. That's what I call service.

I guess it truly depends on who the installer is...
