  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just curious, can any owner report back the accuracy of the speedometer via gps satellite.

The speedometer on 2009-2014 models were generally about 1 - 1.5 MPH too high when compared to a GPS. Not sure about 2nd generation Genesis (2015).

My 2g is dead-nuts on the money according to my phone GPS.

i get the same reading from my waze app and the car's speedometer.

Me too. The 2015 is dead on.

The 2009 4.6 (48k miles), 1.5 mph higher than GPS.
The 2013 R-Spec (10k) is still spot on.

2015 analog speedometer matches exactly what the nav system reports (setup button -> navigation -> gps info, iirc) BUT the digital speedometer in the gauge cluster reports 1mph too high.

This is the same system used by the cruise control. It's annoying but not that hard to live with i.e. For non-highways I like to go 5 over, so I just set cruise control to 6 over instead.

My phone gps matches what the nav system reports exactly.

Mine's dead on vs. Waze.

My AWD is about 1 MPH higher than my Escort indicates. The Escort has been dead accurate with GPS and Phone so the car seems to be in error.

Perfectly stated. I have tested this against the GPS on 2 separate phones plus my radar detector which has GPS and reflects the current speed. And that is most welcome since both my 2013 Azera and 2011 Elantra both were 2-3 mph lower than the GPS measured speed which aggravated the heck out of me.
