  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Speedometer reads fast by 2 mi. per 40 mph.

I believe in Germany this is required by law. They have a spec for how much higher the speedo must read (for cars made there). Somebody published it once on a BMW blog. Presumably also to prevent people going too fast "unknowingly" because they put on tires which were a bit larger in diameter.

European law (ECE-R39) says speedometers cannot show speeds less than the actual speed, and they must never show more than the 110 per cent of actual speed plus 4 km/h. So, under those rules, a car could be moving at 100 km/h, but the speedometer could legally display as high as 114 km/h

Maybe it’s a Genesis feature. My new ‘22 Tucson’s speedo is right on the button. 😬

I checked this morning on the way to work. Speedo, HUD and WAZE all said exactly the same. Even changed up and down precisely together. So the new 2021 G80 3.5 AWD Prestige seems to be right on target.

Thank you Falaris. And thanks to others that had Suggestions On how get this fixed(pulsar and Mr.Incredible). I will try Genesis concierge service to log a complaint to see if it can be adjusted to be corrected.

Throw some 275s on the rear and the issue literally goes away. Had the same problem. And 275s look way better on the rears. I feel like genesis went cost effective for the size of tires.

How many miles on the tires? Report back after 20,000 miles

Had my first long distance trip in a very long time this week. 410 miles one way and I amused myself by watching the variation in the speed display from the dial on the driver display, the cruise control number and the navigation screen reading. Cruise display was ~3 mph higher than needle and navi was between the two. Never a concordance.

This thread got me to pay more attention. I don't know the accuracy of the street speed signs but at 30 mph indicated the sign said 29. At 45, another said 43.

Does it matter? On the highway there is an upper limit that risks a ticket but you typically are going with the flow and depending on conditions can be from 10 under to 10 over the posted limit. No matter what is indicated, in traffic you are often going the speed as the 500 cars in front of you.

I assume you mean the trailerable radar speed indicators moved around on streets to remid drivers of their speed.

As I said, it was pure amusement on my part. Watching fuel mileage display, navigation screen. I am WAY out of practice for long distance driving. I am recovering today after 7.5 hours on the road yesterday.
