  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Sport model tire rotation

Right. You at least have a chance to even the wear. If you don’t, Any uneven wear, even if you can see it immediately will only get worse. I have noticed a lot of dealer don’t like to rotate right to left and will give you a lot of bologna reason why even though the manual say to do so. When you go for an oil change do you look at the oil and say ya that oil looks clean, I’ll just skip it?
Agreed. They should be rotated... usually from 5-7k miles. Not detecting wear is not a valid reason to "skip" a rotation. I get that the reason to rotate is for even wear, but waiting to see uneven wear to justify the switch is a bit short sighted. I'd put pressure on them. However, I do admit that our local franchise tire dealer will rotate em for free. Still, that would be an inconvenience with that other apptmnt.

Depends on wear...and if uneven.

They did not do it to mine at 6k...and I agreed. Guy showed me, etc.
Neither did they in mine during maintenance, tread wear was minimal.

Ok thanks. I can accept that. She just didn't seem real sure at first. She was like they didn't rotate your tires because the front had less tread than the back. I was like but they're staggered so it would be side to side and not front to back and then she was like oh, well it just didn't need rotating. He went and asked the manager and the manager said not to do it. She couldn't tell me if it was even or uneven wear on the front. Just said, it must be even cause it didn't need rotating. So I appreciate you guys for putting my mind at ease. It makes sense.
You don't happen to have the P/N for the cabin air filter they used, do you?

I'm seeing 97133-D2500, but just want to be sure.
Sorry I don't, I checked my paperwork and they didn't put the P/N on there, unfortunately.

So much for feeling at ease lol. I'll make them do it the next time I guess or go back soon. I'm at 6k miles right now.

Honestly I don’t think it matters. These tires are gonna be shot in 25k probably. And on a awd id one is worn worse than others you are replacing all four anyway

44 posts on rotating (or not) staggered tires. I realize the performance benefits of larger rear tires and that they come installed on sport cars, but I also see the simplicity and resulting advantage of having non-staggered or directional tires that can be cross-rotated, front to back.

Toward that, if I had staggered wheels on a semi-performance car like a G80 (maybe not a G70) I would consider replacing the rears with wheels and tires to match the front, allowing easier rotation, better tire life, and keeping costs down.
