  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Yesterday I saw a 2nd Gen Genesis with amber LED strip instead of the white one like i've seen on all G2's. It was a black 3.8 signature package here in Houston. I'm guessing it wasn't a new G2 since the guy had his metal plates.

I noticed his back tail lights were on so he was driving with his parking lights on. this is how i'd make my LED strip light up.

Is this a custom headlight? Is that the way the first G2's came? Mine are white so matter what position i put mine in.

My 3.8 G2 has only amber running lights.

i'm talking about the LED light at the perimeter of the light.

Shown here in white:

Anyone know why the LED's would be yellow? Did the Genesis come like this or did the owner mod the lights?

Base model has Amber LED lights. I believe they also function as the front turn signals.

Not to mention that the base G2 also has white DRLs!

Whoa! I didn't know any of this.

Why bother to make this different? I think it'd be cool to have that LED as the turn signal!!

Yeah, the base Genesis has an amber-colored LED-strip that also functions as a turn-signal. I like it better than the white-LED-strip.

Yes the base has yellow LED strips. Initially I preferred the white but now I really like the yellow. I use them for day time running lights, even when you kill the engine and lock the car they automatically switch off and stay off.
