  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Spy shots of the long-awaited GV80.

GV80. This model could be going to get Scrapped as it will no longer be needed for testing.

This is awesome. By the time my G70 lease is up...hopefully a new G70 with the 3.5T will be up for grabs. This is exactly why I love to lease :)
I’m happy for you @Beefer but let’s see those HP numbers so we can hear all about you beating out those other brands 😏

This is the first we are hearing about a new dual clutch transmission, right? Do you guys think it'll be smooth enough at low speeds to be used ubiquitously on Genesis products? Could it compete with the PDK?

I’m not sure if it will come with the new Genesis models could be only for the 2.5T engines.

Engine info for 3.5TT compared to outgoing 3.3TT.

Torque, HP, and mileage all appear to be improved. Nice!

This is why I like to buy. While you are "hoping" I can buy or sell at any moment with no issues. :)

I don't want to derail this thread so... has anyone heard about towing ability on the GV80??? I need it to tow a trailer! :)

If I'm looking at the chart right, the 3.3TT has a better torque curve with it available on the low end. Is that correct?
From the graph that Hyundai provided I believe so.

The chart is for the 3.5 engine as torque as almost at the half-point between 50 and 60 kgf/m and horsepower is not as clearly closer to 400 than to 350.

HP is roughly at 375-380.

I would expect it to be similar to the Palisade which is 5K lbs, although that is less than the competition.

I hope not as I can't buy one then. I also doubt it as this is on a rear drive platform and typically they are able to tow more.

All of the German SUV's in this category (GLE, X5, Q7) plus Range Rover, Land Rover Discovery, and even Dodge Durange, and Jeep Grand Cherokee can all tow over 7000lbs. It is only the wimpy and inferior FWD based Japanese SUV's from Lexus, Acura, Infiniti that can't tow that much. That is why I am thinking since Genesis is trying to focus a bit more on the German's that they match this spec as well.

I need at least 6000lbs to consider the GV80. I need a replacement for my wife's Grand Cherokee asap...

Can’t really tell from these pics, but this reminded me of one observation I made during the focus group, that the button to open the rear gate is actually incorporated in the wiper stalk base. And by the way, the one I saw had the wheels similar to the ones on the current g80 sport, and IMHO they look the best!

I know it’s not the normal way of thinking but I kinda hope they use the 3.8 the first year. Wife will be looking for new car and we keep cars so long.... naturally aspirated outlast turbo and the 3.8 is a good engine from my research.

Doubt that'll happen.
