  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I think the creaks and squeaks are coming from the flexible seal in the door. With the door closed, reach up and move the seal with your fingers. That squeak is the sound I hear when I go over bumps. So maybe the door could be better secured on the hinges? Or need some kind of washer?

Apply generously a high quality silicone (liquid or Vaseline) on the door seals (all of them) and weatherstrips. This most likely will get you "squeak-free" in no time :)

Mine needed a new seal. Tolerances between door and frame being out of whack may cause premature wear of the seal (in my opinion)

Go around and shut your doors, the noise they make when the close should clue you in to what door is producing the noise. 3 of mine close with a solid 'thunk' the other closes with a more rattly slam, this was because of a flattened seal (caused by door being too tight?) towards the top of the door, and this is where rattling while driving was coming from. The seal had compressed over time and the tension between the door and the frame of the car had lessened to the point where it produced the rattles.

I don't really get a "rattle" per se, more of a squeak. Going to try the silicone trick.

You mean like a silicone caulk from Lowes? How do I know high quality from low? Vaseline, as in moisturizer?

Applying the sealant to the door seals makes a huge difference.

Be nice!!!!! :P lol

lol that wasn't facetious. I have seen a difference firsthand. All of my interior noises come from the sunroof and the door seals. It's a shame because I was hoping that Hyundai got this right with the 2nd gen because of all the talk about it being stiffer and how tight it is (when new). I'm honestly not sure I'm willing to take a chance with the 3rd gen.

When i say good quality I mean the type of silicone spray professional grade.
I have used BMW Silicone spray with very good results - you can buy it from any BMW dealers.
