Squeaky brakes

As much as my wife and I want to like our 2024 GV70 2.5 Prestige Sport it just keeps throwing little challenges at us. We have always been able to drive very nice vehicles and actually picked the GV70 over Lexus, BMW, Audi, Audi and others. My daily driver is a Porsche Macan so we have had good comparisons for our GV70.

Transfer case and differential went within 2000 miles. Steering wheel squeaks, wheel alignment off badly and now the brakes are squeaking extremely loud and very annoying when backing up. The response from my dealer was this happens in cold, wet weather. I live in Ohio so that what we get. I have never owned any vehicle that has done this, maybe a minor squeak but nothing like the GV70’s. So my question is….is there any known solution short of replacing rotors you are aware of?

I normally lease but I bought the GV70 and we’ve had it for 9 months and I just keep wondering what’s next, but we do like it.

It may sound crazy, but you can put a dab of grease on the back of the backing plate of the brake pad and that will eliminate the squeak. Do NOT put the grease the part of pad that faces the disk.
