  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Thinking of changing my Servicing Dealer for my Sonatas, so visited my closest Hyundai Dealer.
Jenkins Hyundai (and Jenkins Genesis) in Leesburg Florida, only about 8 miles away. Surprised that they had quite a few Genesis G70 and G80’s in stock. Checked out a red G70 in showroom. First one I’ve seen close up in person. Larger than expected. Some things I liked. Somethings I don’t like.
Anyway, to the point.

On leaving the dealership, I saw that there was construction going on behind the empty lot next door. Asked if that was going to be their stand alone Genesis site. Now it gets complicated so bare with me.

1. Said that they were going to move their Honda Dealership to the new building once completed.

2. Going to move their Nisssn Dealership to the former Honda location.

3. Will open their Stand Alone Genesis Dealership at their former Nisssn location.

Makes sense because present Nisssn location is small for a high volume dealer but perfect for a low volume high end Genesis Dealership.

Hyundai location will stay the same.

Again, surprised they had so many Genesis’ in stock. A friend (acquaintance) who has worked there for 12 years tried to sell me one. Told him that I’ve purchased two Sonatas 105 miles away and saved big bucks compared to buying at Jenkins. That dealer also sells Genesis, as does my present servicing dealer, 30 miles away).

Update on above post from two and half years ago.

Went to dealer to purchase an oil filter for my 2021 G80 3.5. They have large signs, to watch for the expansion of their Service Department. Asked if the expansion would be for Genesis.
Service Advisor (you know they never lie) said that stand alone Genesis will eventually be going into their former Nissan location, which is now strictly used cars.

If true, should have done two years ago.

Again, from first post above.
Started talking with friend (acquaintance) that works there.
Saw a White G70. Looked at sticker. Wow. They are crazy.
MSRP was $43,xxx but bump up sticker brought price to $53,xxx.
Bumped up $10,000. Crazy, but someone who doesn’t know better will buy it.

The good:
Parts Department pricing. Bought an Oil Filter for my 2021 G80. Price $10 vice the $25 my Orlando dealer wants.

The not so good:
Asked about engine Air Filters
($25 each vice $50 each in Orlando). Does not have any.
Asked “what happens when G80 3.5 comes in for (comp) Service. Parts said they will order it before car arrives. I then said “you actually believe that if I call for appointment, or if Genesis makes appointment for me, that they will first inform Parts Department to make sure all parts available”?
All I got back was a big smile.
