  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone ever thought of going full stand alone or tried cracking our ECU's? To really unlock the full potential of our cars going stand alone would seem like the best idea but pricey. If i could only figure out a way to crack our factory ECU or just find a program that would connect to it would be AMAZING!!

The simple answer is yes and it was an extremely difficult task with a very long wait, for both the 4.6 & 5.0.
About the only safe bet if one wants to explore the idea further, is to get a 3.3T for anything beyond the ‘feels faster’ factor...

Ahh ok. At this point I'm almost willing to start putting money into it and being up for the challenge. I'd love to see the potential the 4.6 has. The only other two methods that someone could to is turbo the 4.6 or just like Rhys Millen did with his mid engine 4.6 Genesis Coupe where he had a set of custom pistons made.

Good luck...
To save you some time, here are the Original 4.6 BTR tune results:

Both TrailWalker and myself went through that headache many, many moons ago, but alas not many people signed up, so unfortunately BTR no longer sell the 4.6 or 5.0 tune.
