Starting Problems- Genisis Sedan 2010

Both Key Fobs are charged but neither works remotely . Car will start with either inserted in physical fob receptacle..... in this scenario everything works except radio/stereo system- which is dark and inoperative. The car starts immediately, but the clock is reset to 1:00... every time.

However when the car is turned off none of the electrical systems work .... interior lights etc unless the fob is in the physical starting dock. Ive checked the fuses and recharged the battery (18 k mile on the car). Same start up problems.....

The soonest I can get into the dealer is a week from today.... is there some reset sequence or action that can alleviate this condition?

Any one else had this problem? This occurred a month ago ...... but self corrected within a day (slightly different conditions).

Not sure how you "charge" your key fobs. I assume you mean you've replaced the batteries in your key fobs, or somehow tested the charge on the existing batteries? If not, I'm guessing that your key fob batteries are dead..just a guess. I've read on this forum that if your key fob is left in close enough proximity to the car that it is "communicating" with the car (i.e., leaving the key fob in you car while it's parked in your garage, or keeping you "spare" key fob in the glove box), it can run your key fob battery down faster than normal as it constantly "communicates".

If your batteries are good, then I think you've got a bigger problem. I've never had the problem you describe, but twice in the past 6 months I've had my car almost start (i.e., the engine turned over and then immediately stalled and quit), leaving all the accessories running (radio, A/C, etc.), but I could not get the car to re-start for about a minute, no matter how many times I pushed the start button. After about a minute, I could get the car back to completely shut down by repeatedly pushing the start button, then it started normally.

You need to replace the batteries in your Fobs'. They are a 1032 and can be purchased at any department store usually in or near the watch department. Fob batteries can not be charged up they must be replaced. You can open the fob using the key which is in the fob, pull it out 1/4 of the way and twist, this will separate the two fob facia parts, the battery will be easily identified for replacement.
