  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Posting this info in case anyone else runs into the same situation. Had to replace the mounting bushings for the rack and pinion / steering gear on my 2009 4.6.

Dealer catalog shows the bushings, but doesn't provide a part number to order them. They're TRW parts and have the part number A0013065 molded into the rubber. Couldn't find any place to order them directly.

I ended up modifying a set of Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings. Used their 9.9105G bushings as a starting point. Burned the rubber off the old bushing sleeve with a propane torch being careful not to overheat and effect the temper of the bushing. Used sandpaper to thin out the lip on the new bushings, then cut some of the height off each half with a hot razor. Then sanded the diameter of the bushing down to approximately 26 mm. I just chucked the bushing into a drill and spun against some 80 grit paper, being careful not to overdo it. Access to a lathe, band saw, or belt sander would have made it easier but it all worked out in the end.

Attached some pictures of the bushing I'm referring to and measurements I took of the old bushing.
