  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have no clue what is going on with my steering wheel...

I will get in my car, and turn it on.

Then....

1.) Sometimes the steering wheel will automatically go to its proper setting.

2.) I will have to press "2" five-six times on the door panel to get the wheel to lower to its proper spot.

3.) The steering wheel will not move at all...It wont move when the car gets turned on. It wont move when I hit "2". It wont move when I try to move it manually on the side.

Any advice or suggestions?

If I recall correctly, sounds like a problem experienced by others for your model year. Obviously, most people had it fixed under warranty.

Yes this smells like a bad limit switch. Very common on the '09 and '10. Car is too old to be covered by the 5/60, unless of course you have a HPP or 3rd party extended warranty. Expect to pay a couple hundred $ to fix.

My 2011 had this problem took two visits to correct it. If memory serves me well I do remember somebody on this site figured out a certain sequence of control movements for the steering wheel when done in a specific order it would reset the system and it would work fine for a while. I remember trying it and it worked. Of course eventually it would go back but sometimes it lasted quite a while. It’s here somewhere.

Having the same issue with my 2013 Premium. Will search for that post, think I remember it too.
